Privacy Policy

The short version: We're not here to harvest your data or sell it to the highest bidder. We collect what you give us, use it to build this community, and keep it safe. That's it.

Who We Are

SA Rejects is a brand of Futures Group (Pty) Ltd (Reg: 2024/663048/07), based in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. We are the responsible party for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What We Collect

We only collect what you voluntarily provide when you sign up or fill out our forms:

• Your email address when you join, and your name and contact details if you share them
• Your skills, business info, or organization details, depending on your path
• Whatever you tell us about what you're building or how you want to collaborate
• If you ask for a hand: the situation you pick and the message you write, plus your email so we can reply
• If you post a win to the Wall: your win, an optional display name, and a rough amount

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may log standard request data such as your IP address and browser type to keep the site secure and prevent spam. We don't use this to build a profile of you.

"Need a Hand?" Is Private

When you ask for a hand, the situation you choose and the message you write are kept private. They are read by a real person on our team so we can reply and actually help. They are never published, never shown on the Wall, and never sold or shared for marketing.

Where It Lives

We've consolidated everything into one place, so your information is easier to protect:

• Supabase is our single database. Sign-ups, "Need a Hand?" requests, and Wall wins all live here
• Cloudflare hosts the site, and stores any file you choose to upload
• Our email providers send your confirmations and updates

Access to the database is locked down with row-level security, so the public can only ever read what's meant to be public (like approved Wall wins). Your email, your help-request messages, and anything private stay private. Some of these providers process data outside South Africa, and where that happens we rely on providers that apply appropriate safeguards, including encryption and recognised contractual protections.

How We Use It

Simple:

• To connect SA REJECTS with each other
• To build this parallel economy we're all talking about
• To send you occasional updates about opportunities (no spam, promise). You can unsubscribe any time
• To understand who's in this community and what we're collectively capable of

How Long We Keep It

We keep your information while your sign-up is active or while we still need it to run the community. If you ask us to delete it, or you unsubscribe, we remove it within a reasonable period, except where the law requires us to keep certain records longer.

Your Rights (POPIA)

Under South African law (POPIA), you've got rights, and we respect them:

• Access: Ask us what data we have on you
• Correction: Fix any info that's wrong or incomplete
• Deletion: Tell us to delete your data (we'll be sad, but we'll do it)
• Objection: Object to how we're using your data
• Restriction: Ask us to limit how we use it
• Portability: Get your data in a common, readable format
• Withdraw consent: Change your mind at any time
• Complaint: Take it up with the Information Regulator if we stuff up

The Wall Is Public

Wins you post to the Wall are shown publicly once approved. Your email is never shown. Keep your win general and don't include anyone else's private information. Want your win taken down? Email privacy@sarejects.com and we'll remove it.

Cookies & Tracking

We don't use advertising cookies and we don't track you across the internet. The site uses your browser's local storage and a secure session cookie to keep you signed in and remember basic state. Any analytics we use are privacy-focused and don't sell your browsing habits to advertisers.

Data Breaches

If something goes wrong (though we're doing everything to prevent it), we'll tell affected people and the Information Regulator within 72 hours and help you protect yourself.

Terms of Service

The bottom line: Don't be an idiot. Build stuff. Help others. Take responsibility for your own decisions.

What This Is

SA REJECTS is a community platform for builders, contributors, and collaborators who are too strong for the system. It is run by Futures Group (Pty) Ltd (Reg: 2024/663048/07). It's not:

• Professional legal, financial, tax, or business advice
• A guarantee of success
• A get-rich-quick scheme
• A place for politics or division

Your Responsibilities

By using this platform, you agree to:

• Be 18+ years old (or have parental consent)
• Share real information (no catfishing the community)
• Take responsibility for your own business decisions
• Not spam, scam, or try to MLM anyone
• Build each other up, not tear each other down
• Keep it professional when connecting with others

Our Rights

We reserve the right to:

• Remove anyone who abuses the platform or community
• Change these terms when needed (we'll tell you)
• Pause or stop the service if necessary
• Share success stories (with your permission)

Your Content & The Wall

When you post a win to the Wall, or share anything else on the platform, you are responsible for it. You confirm that:

• It's true and it's yours to share
• It doesn't name, identify, or accuse a real person or company of wrongdoing
• It isn't false, defamatory, hateful, infringing, or unlawful, and doesn't expose anyone else's private information

Every win is reviewed by a person before it goes public, and we can edit, refuse, or remove anything for any reason. Approved posts are the views of the people who wrote them. We don't endorse or verify them, and we are not their author. We are a platform, not the speaker.

Report Content

See something that names or targets a real person, or that shouldn't be there? Email privacy@sarejects.com with a link or description and why it should come down. We act on valid reports promptly and take down content that breaks these rules.

Liability Stuff

Look, we're facilitating connections, not guaranteeing outcomes. To the maximum extent allowed by law:

• We're not liable if a business opportunity doesn't work out
• We're not responsible for the actions of other community members
• You use this platform at your own risk
• We're not liable for any losses, direct or indirect, including loss of profit, data, or opportunity

You Cover Us (Indemnity)

If your content or your use of the platform lands us in trouble, for example a claim that something you posted is defamatory or unlawful, you agree to cover Futures Group (Pty) Ltd and its people for the reasonable costs, damages, and legal fees that result.

Intellectual Property

What's yours stays yours. What you share on the platform remains your intellectual property. But by sharing, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to display it on the platform and to use it to promote SA REJECTS (always with credit).

Disputes

If we have issues:

• Let's try to sort it out like adults first
• South African law applies
• Johannesburg courts have jurisdiction

We're building something different here. Something that works for us, by us. These legal docs exist because they have to, but what really matters is the community we're creating.
